MY VISION

BUILDING JOBS.

STRENGTHENING OUR FUTURE.

My name is Sean Collins Hess, and I’m running for the St. Johns County Airport Authority to support economic development, attract high-quality jobs, and ensure that our kids can build their future right here at home.

“A mile of road will take you a mile, but a mile of runway will take you anywhere in the world.”

MY PRIORITIES

Creating more opportunities for the next generation requires more than one project—it takes supporting the businesses we have, attracting new investment, and strengthening every part of our airport.

SUPPORTING OUR LARGEST EMPLOYER’S SUCCESS

St. Johns County’s largest private employer is located at the airport and is a vital partner in our community. I’ll work to ensure they continue to thrive here while supporting new opportunities for growth that create additional high-quality careers for local residents.

GROW EXISTING BUSINESSES

Our airport businesses already employ talented people and provide valuable services. I’ll advocate for their ability to expand, invest, and create more high-quality career opportunities right here in St. Johns County.

SUPPORT GENERAL AVIATION

General aviation is the foundation of our airport. I will ensure pilots, aircraft owners, and aviation professionals continue to have the access, resources, and support they need, including advocating for new hangar space.

EXPAND AIR SERVICE OPTIONS

I want more choices for travelers and more reasons to fly from St. Augustine. I will work to attract and retain commercial air service that saves time, strengthens our local economy, and makes St. Johns County an even more attractive place for businesses to invest.

MY VISION FOR THE FUTURE

The St. Augustine Airport can be a powerful engine for our local economy. I will focus on smart investments, strong partnerships, and long-term planning that support our businesses, enhance services for St. Johns County residents, and grow local jobs to ensure our kids can afford to work and live here.

What kind of jobs? Engineering, aircraft mechanics and mechanic training, electronics, advanced manufacturing, composite materials, software, cybersecurity, electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL), drones, rotorcraft and helicopters, flight simulation, air traffic control training, pilot training, safety systems, noise reduction, supply chain, environmental … the list goes on and on.

Aerospace is much bigger than the airport and its runway. The real opportunities are in building, maintaining, and improving everything that uses the airport.

When our airport succeeds, our community succeeds.

Create and attract high-quality jobs.

Strengthen partnerships with the aerospace industry, government, and our community.

Ensure exceptional service for all who use our airport.

Plan responsibly for sustainable growth and future opportunities.

LET’S BUILD A STRONGER FUTURE TOGETHER.

I’d be honored to earn your support and work for an airport that creates greater opportunity for our kids.
